The population of Bnei Brak at the end of the first half of the year according to Israel’s Central Bureau of Statistics stands at 186,748, which is an increase as compared to the last half of 5774 when the population was 182,916. In 5773 the population was 176,556 and in 5772, that number was 171,038.
City spokesman and secretary, Avraham Tannenbaum explains that the city was built over 90 years ago to accommodate 10,000 residents. He adds that a recent building plan to add 560 units in the Lubinsky project on Kahaneman Street have been approved, as well as 300 units in the shuk project in Pardes Katz as well as other projects today and in the future.
