Yahadut Hatorah became the first party to enter the new coalition government as expected. The 12-page coalition agreement represents a significant victory for the party, which has succeeded in reversing some of the anti-Torah legislation passed in the previous administration.
The new coalition will eliminate the criminal penalties from the draft law, will freeze the liberal giyur reform, restore monthly child allowance payments, increase the child dental plan in the nationwide health plan, and amend the new regulations compelling chareidi schools to introduce ‘core subjects’ into their curriculum.
MK Yaakov Litzman thanked Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu for his cooperation. MK Moshe Gafne praised the accomplishments achieved in the coalition agreement following two years of being in the opposition.
The party agreed on the target of Sukkos for the passing of the biennial state budget.

Lapid is eating his heart out with regret for having joined the last government whereas now all his so-called “achievements” such as drafting chareidim will now be reversed before they ever went into effect, thus his having served the last government and effectively got nothing in return. Lapid is now tearing kriya.
Take that Lapid
The Prime Minister doesn’t look too happy, does he?
I am not sure if the prime minister is looking unhappy , or it looks more like a smirk expressing “you’d better behave yourselves”! 🙂
This is for Lapid his “Get” Accronym of “Gemar Tov” Literally “Good Riddance”
The changes only work if Natanyahu gets a majority who sign on to the changes. While Shas and Bayit Yehudi wouldn’t be a problem, Kulanu might object, and Labor probably would. Netanyahu is limited in the extent he can coerce coalition partners.
I wonder how the non-chareidi, mothers of children, who do have to go to the army, feel?
#7 Yira: probably the same as they feel toward the 37% (some say it’s more) of rich, assimilated chiloni kids who are dodging the draft and have been for years. This is so they can have more fun, parties, trips abroad, or maybe to go to university. At least the yeshiva boys are sustaining the world, and protecting the Jewish people from harm with their learning.
akuperma: Arutz 7 reported that Kulanu signed an agreement.
The coalition agreement signed by all coalition parties binds them all to agree to vote in favor of all the changes agreed to with each party.
#7Yira: No woman, religious or not has to serve in the army once she has kids. No mother with children under the age of 16 has to serve in the army!
