Hachnasas orchim officials at the Rashbi are busy preparing for the hundreds of thousands of expected visitors for Lag B’Omer. This includes preparing tens of thousands of sandwiches and drinks to distribute to the visitors.

Towards the end of last week the large tent that will serve the orchim was erected. Officials explain the tent will be capable of accommodating 1,000 guests.

Rabbi Chaim Zilber, who heads Mosdos Rashbi adds that the seuda in honor of Rashbi on his yahrzeit must be a respectable one and fitting for the guests who will have traveled far for the occasion.

He explains that with this in mind they are setting up the giant tent to permit visitors to have a proper seuda in the tent in addition to the Shteiblach and the tents set up for limud Torah. Rabbi Zilber emphasizes this year an additional focus is being placed on safety and security, stating they are taking a lesson from the tragedies that occurred during the levaya of HaGaon HaRav Shmuel Halevy Wosner ZT”L.
