Shas leader Aryeh Deri met on Monday 24 Nissan with Bayit Yehudi leader Naftali Bennett. This was followed by a meeting on Tuesday between Ayelet Shaked and Yaakov Asher of Yahadut Hatorah. The meeting was held in Degel Hatorah headquarters in Bnei Brak.

It is reported the one-hour meeting intended to probe cooperation between the parties in an effort to advance ongoing coalition talks. One of the items discussed was giyur and the fact that Bayit Yehudi was responsible for the changes while Yahadut Hatorah wants to restore the old status quo and place exclusive authority for giyur back in the hands of the Chief Rabbinate of Israel.
