On Monday night at about 11:05PM, the Ramapo Police Department responded to the Kosher Castle Restaurant at 43 Route 59, Monsey, New York on a report of a theft in progress. Upon arrival, the officers were advised that a male entered the restaurant, removed a charity box containing cash off the counter, and fled on foot.
Ramapo officers arrested Mr. Benjamin Pugh near the scene of this incident. He is a 23 year old male with no known address at this time. The charity box was also recovered. Ramapo officers were assisted at the scene by Chaverim of Rockland.
Mr. Pugh was charged with Petit Larceny, a NYS Penal Law misdemeanor. He was processed for the arrest and is being held for arraignment at the Ramapo Police Department. Arraignment will occur later today.
