Labor MK Cabel Backs PM Netanyahu’s Position on Iran

bibLabor party MK Eitan Cabel, a known staunch opponent to Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, came out publically to back the prime minister’s stern position against Iran and the US brokered deal with Tehran.

Cabel serves as the chairman of the Labor faction in Knesset. He announced “I refuse to join the choir of those applauding the nuclear agreement with Iran. The truth is [the agreement] will result in a loss of sleep”.

Cabel has not been persuaded by statements released by US President Barak Obama, who is trying to reassure the American People and Western community that the deal with Iran is a good one. “This time around it is not a question of left-wing or right-wing” states Cabel, who adds “With the radical religious regime’s record of terrorism receives permission to get to touching distance of a nuclear bomb I am very concerned. When the person responsible to ensure the agreement is not breached has a proven track record of contempt for red lines that he himself set, I am even more worried”.

Cabel concludes “Hence, in this matter only I stand at Binyamin Netanyahu’s side amid all the criticism regarding how he handled the struggle surrounding the deal before it was signed. Bottom line, the struggle [against it] was justified. There is no coalition and opposition when it comes to standing against a nuclear Iran threat – we are all Israelis”.
