Rishon L’Tzion HaGaon HaRav Yitzchak Yosef Shlita met on Wednesday 12 Nissan with former President Shimon Peres to discuss the possibility of forming a national unity coalition government, Channel 2 News reported.

The report states the chief rabbi’s meeting was not announced to the public or media as Rabbi Yosef visited the former president in his home.

The former president’s staff confirms the meeting took place, acknowledging they discussed the possibility of a unity government. Officials in the Rishon L’Tzion’s office confirmed the meeting as well, adding Rabbi Yosef holds the former president in high regard and the rav wishes Am Yisrael a Chag Kosher Somayach.
