Sunday March 29th was dedicated by the Monsey community to a massive distribution of food for Pesach which was distributed anonymously to almost 1,000 families.
Hundreds of volunteers participated in this massive distribution, the scope of which was unprecedented.Though Tomche Shabbos of Rockland County distributes large quantities of food before Pesach every year, this years’ distribution was comprised of unprecedented quantities of food. Huge quantities of potatoes, apples, oranges, eggs, chicken, beef, wine, grape juice, tuna fish, gefilte fish, carrots, onions, condiments, Shmurah Matzoh, oil, seltzer, baby fingers, macaroons, and ground nuts were distributed by hundreds of volunteers.

Perplexed.
Should we be proud of the Chesed? Or should we be astounded at the enormous amount of normal families who can not afford to buy, on their own, Idaho Potatoes.
Where is our leadership?
Yira – what a strange comment. How can we not be proud of the Chesed – Mi K’amcho Yisroel. The deliveries of food to these families contain WAY more than Idaho potatoes. Unfortunately, there are many families that need help and its alwahys been this way. It’s our responsibility to help them. Where is our leadership you are asking? I don’t get what’s bothering you.
It is a remarkable testament to the entire community that funds, leads and volunteers for such a special operation.
Unfortunately, in these tough times, there are families requiring help to make this costly Yom Tov even after many have been helped by the leadership through skills training classes and a job placement desk.
Yira – Where is our leadership?
Answer – You’re looking at it
