Am Yisrael is busy preparing for Pesach, which includes addressing organizations collecting for kimcha d’pischa.

According to MK (Yahadut Hatorah) Yisrael Eichler, who has been in contact with chessed organizations, the Ministry of Welfare today gives a mere 8 shekels towards every 150 shekel Pesach package they deliver. They add that last Pesach, the ministry gave 40 shekels per basket, which was still less than a third of the cost.

Eichler sent an urgent letter to the prime minister, who today serves as Finance Minister and Welfare Minister, asking him to at the very least return the sum to what it was last year. He stated that 8 shekels per yomtov basket from the government is an utter disgrace.
