Representatives of the ‘Arab Joint List’, together with heads of Arab municipalities in the south of Israel were on Sunday afternoon 9 Nissan, received by First Lady, Mrs. Nechama Rivlin together with President’s Office officials. The representatives arrived at the President’s Residence having taken part in a march from ‘unrecognized’ Bedouin villages in the south.
The representatives presented the First Lady with a report on 46 ‘unrecognized’ Bedouin villages in the south, which she assured them she would pass on to the President upon his return from Singapore where he was attending the funeral of Lee Kuan Yew.
Among those participating in the delegation was; Chairman of the Joint List, Ayman Odeh MK; Talab Abu Arar MK; Dov Khenin MK; Members of the Joint List, Joseph Attawna and Juma Azbarga; Chairman of the Regional Council of ‘Unrecognized Villages’, Atia al-Asam; and Chairman of the Lakiya local council Salem Abu Ayyash.
