After speaking with MK Mosher Gafne, who has been promised the post of heading the Knesset Finance Committee in the 20th Knesset, Kulanu party leader MK Moshe Kahlon has agreed to refrain from demanding the post for his party. Gafne apparently promised Kahlon that the cooperation they enjoyed in the 18th Knesset would continue in the 20th Knesset with Gafne heading the powerful Knesset committee.
Kahlon addressed over 1,000 party supporters at a pre-Pesach toast event at Airport City. He briefed them on the ongoing negotiations towards forming a coalition. Kahlon explained he is requesting the tools to permit him and the party to solve the housing shortage which includes control over the Interior Ministry Planning Board as well as control of the Israel Lands Administration. This he explains is necessary to release land to permit construction nationwide. “This is all we are asking. We are seeking tools to permit us to work, not ministerial or diplomatic appointments”.
Kahlon added that there are hundreds of thousands of voters who are hoping he and his colleagues will succeed where others before them have failed towards solving the housing shortage that impacts the lives of so many.
