Former Labor party leader MK Shelly Yacimovich speaks of the mistakes made during the campaign.
Speaking with Walla News, Yacimovich did not place the blame for Labor’s loss on the shoulders of any one person. She explained that clearly, the voters wanted Binyamin Netanyahu as prime minister. She feels one of the mistakes made was not securing a deal with Shaul Mofaz on the party list, explaining the former IDF chief and minister of defense is a person she admirers. The former party leader stresses that for now she will continue supporting Yitzchak Herzog as the party leader, adding in the next election she does not envision Tzipi Livni being at the top of the list alongside the party leader as was the case in this past elections.
She does not feel the union with Livni and her The Movement party strengthened Labor and it was noting an agreement that was overwhelmingly supported by Labor voters. Now that elections are over and Labor was defeated, she feels Livni will have to earn her place in the party like all others, stressing it is a democratic party that elects its party leader and faction members.

Ya himovich doesn’t beat around the bush. The country wanted Netanyahu as Prime Minister. She won’t admit it but her party is dead. Socialiism in Istael is dead. All that is left is a pro-arab secular party that is nof willing to come to terms with the fact that land for peace does not work. Yair Lapid came up with an idea to collect the former leftists into a party of ant-religion. But a party based on hatred doesn’t work for more than a couple of cycles and he will be gone next election.
