For the first time since his imprisonment, former President Moshe Katsav will spend this Pesach home with his family. The president’s request for a leave last Pesach was declined since he did not yet serve sufficient time to earn such a leave.
The president resigned his post in 2007 amid allegations of harassment and assault against women. He was convicted in December 2010 and sentenced to a seven-year term in March 2011. That ruling was upheld by the Supreme Court in November 2011.

Prison should be completely abolished for 99.9% of crimes.
