HaGaon HaRav Shalom Cohen Shlita, who heads the Shas party Moetzas Gedolei Yisrael, is visiting Paris to meet with community leaders and to see the location of the January 2015 terror attack. Rav Cohen visited the ‘Hypercacher’ kosher supermarket, where four Jews were murdered HY”D.
The rav is giving shiurim and providing a chizuk to the community. On Monday 3 Nissan the rav arrived at the supermarket where the Jewish hostages were murdered as they were shopping on an erev Shabbos.
The supermarket reopened after a member of the Jewish community purchased the property. The rav felt it is an appropriate time to give a chizuk to the community.
Many members of the community shared their stories with the rav, telling of the horrors and the miracles that they experienced. Near the end of the visit Rav Cohen stated “In the merit of what you are doing to strengthen Yiddishkheit, such an act will not occur in again”.
