Yishai Confronting New Harsh Realities

yishYachad party leader Eli Yishai finds himself in a most difficult situation. He has begun speaking with his workers, those who worked tirelessly during the campaign explaining that they were relying on getting into Knesset and now that they are not, the party is not entitled to Knesset funding. He promised them that despite the delay, they will eventually be paid, assuring everyone no one will be forgotten.

In his letter to his people Yishai acknowledged and thanked them for their mesirus nefesh during the campaign. Yishai stressed that despite not meeting the minimum threshold to enter Knesset, Yachad will function as a NGO towards carrying out campaign promises to assist the underprivileged in any and every way possible. He spoke about continuing to sponsor shiurei Torah and to bring the non-observant back into the fold.

  1. #1- I’m sorry but a true mensch would have told this to his employees BEFORE they went to work for him – not AFTER they had done their work. Mistama, at least some (and likely many) of these people live paycheck to paycheck, cannot afford to wait and would not have taken the job had they been aware of the risk.

  2. kollel faker, not only did he get one seat, he actually got 3-3/4 seats. But you needed to capture four seats to get into the Knesset.

    Wrong!

    Perseverance, secret of all triumphs.

If it is all about him ,then you may perhaps be on to something. but if he and all those who campaigned with him and for him represent something greater ,then it will be only a beginning!

His brand new party collectively garnered some 125,000 votes. effectively 3 3/4 seats
