US House Speaker John Boehner is among those pleased with the outcome of elections in Israel despite the cold congratulatory message heard from the White House.
The Ohio Republican will be in the Middle East right on 11 Nissan, coinciding with the deadline for US talks with Iran. A spokesman for Boehner announced the trip was planned a number of months ago, adding “He looks forward to visiting the country, discussing our shared priorities for peace and security in the region, and further strengthening the bond between the United States and Israel.”
Boehner is already on the outs with President Barak for inviting Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu to address Congress without consulting and coordinating with the White House.
