All New Yorkers are horrified tonight at the tragic loss of nearly an entire family in Midwood. This catastrophe has severely impacted Brooklyn’s Jewish community where the family lived and the children went to school. Our sense of loss is so overwhelming that all we can do now is pray for the family, especially the mother and daughter who are still hospitalized. By all accounts, this is a wonderful family whose relatives are pillars of the Sephardic Jewish community that I am privileged to represent. We pray that they make their way through this unbearably difficult time.
