He was among those hoping to see Yitzchak Herzog emerge the winner, which would have led to a left-wing government that would applaud Tzipi Livni’s desire to make major concessions to the PA.
Now counted among those standing in the loser’s circle, senior PA negotiator Dr. Saeb Erekat on Tuesday night 26 Adar stated the PA will now increase its diplomatic efforts against Israel, which includes bringing a case against Israel in the International Court of Justice in The Hague.
Erekat explained he and his colleagues are all too familiar with Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu’s statements against a Palestinian state and in favor of continued settlement in Yehuda and Shomron.
Foreign media agencies quote Hamas in Gaza calling on Abu Mazen and Erekat to walk away from negotiating efforts with Israel, which clearly will not lead to the end result being sought by the PA.
