HaGaon HaRav Shalom Cohen Shlita sent his son Rabbi Yaakov Cohen to speak with HaGaon HaRav Shmuel Auerbach Shlita, Kol Chai Radio reported.
In a phone conversation with Rabbi Yaakov, he confirms that he was sent on a shlichus by his father, who is the head of the Shas party Torah Council, sending the message that Shas promises total cooperation regarding the elimination of the chareidi draft law, saying “to return things to what they were, no induction goals and no sanctions”.
Rav Yaakov explains the meeting was very short and the message is known. They did not get into details. He explains his father was crying for he really feels the pain of the Sephardi tzibur.
Rav Cohen made an effort to get Yerushalmi faction supporters and followers out to the polls to vote for Shas amid the awareness many talmidim of HaGaon HaRav Shmuel Auerbach Shlita will not be voting or they may be voting for the Yachad party

This is all part of a mass ploy from shas and yachad to seed confusion. Reb Shmuel was very clear not to vote for any party. Period.
HaGaon HaRav Shmuel Auerbach shlit”a has become very popular with all the Chareidi parties (including Gimmel, Shas and Yachad) begging him for his tzibur’s votes.
Reb Shmuel was not at all clear. Clear would have been to say, “It is ossur to vote.” All he said was that there is nobody to vote for. That is an eitza, not a psak. Anybody who concluded from that not to vote, and aided the evildoers to succeed better, has only himself to blame and will have to give an accounting someday.
