BREAKING: Plane Strikes Bird After Takeoff At JFK Airport; Flight Forced To Return


aaAmerican Airlines flight en route to St. Thomas on the U.S. Virgin Islands was forced returned to Kennedy airport after striking a bird, airline officials say.

American Airlines Flight 1320 was forced to land around 8:45AM, Tuesday. Authorities say that around 10 minutes into the flight the pilot radioed the control tower at JFK and prepared for landing. The bird reportedly struck the planes windshield. It was not known how extensive the damage was.

The flight landed safely, and no injuries were reported to the approximately 130 passengers on board the aircraft.
