Litzman Wishes Labor Party Leader Herzog ‘Hatzlacha’

herzYahadut Hatorah MK Yaakov Litzman met with his friend Yitzchak Herzog on a Channel 10 News magazine show set on Monday morning 25 Adar. The two are known to be friends and they made no effort to hide their fondness for one another as well as the possibility of working with one another following elections.

The two crossed paths as Litzman left the studio and he stopped to shake Herzog’s hand and wish him “hatzlacha” in the elections.

Some are pondering if this was more than a polite gesture and maybe an indication that Litzman would prefer entering a coalition headed by Herzog instead of Netanyahu and that he will make this recommendation to the admorim of the Moetzas Gedolei Hatorah following elections.

  1. Litzman will enter whichever coalition is willing to meet the needs of his community, which this year involves exemption from conscription. Netanyahu’s probable coalition includes several parties who were admant of enacting the conscription law and might not back down. Herzog’s will include Arabs and left-wing radical (post-zionists), who also don’t approve of military service.

It is very unlikely a hareidi politician would put personal ties ahead of the welfare of his constituents, and at this point, its is important to maintain close ties with both camps.

  2. Or perhaps Litzman is being a mench and demonstrating Derech Eretz. ” Greeting everyone with a pleasant countenance. Regardless of politics, they are still fellow Jewish brethren.

    Everyone relax!

  3. So they’re going to be supporting Herzog?
    Nice.
Just curious- will they join him in supporting legislation to pass laws allowing Halachically impossible “marriage”?
And will they also pass legislation allowing cars to drive by them on their way to shul on Shabbos? And will they then throw stones at the same vehicles they invited?

The last one who said that was.. Ehud barak

  5. Call a spade a spade

Whatever disagreements Netanyahu with his coalition partners, were normal disagreements any coalition has.
He could padded them over .

The previous coalition could have continued more or less well for the next couple years.

He , all the media statements aside, broke up the coalition primarily for one goal only:he preferred having the Chareidim and what they stand for in the coalition

If the Chareidi parties now (potentially stab him in the back and) court Herzcog is sheer ingratitude

  6. About Time: You’re confusing these Satmar sonei Yisroel with facts. Unfortunately, it fall to deaf ears. They’d rather support Iran and Obama.
