Identifying Oneself at a Polling Station on Election Day

voteElections for 20th Knesset are scheduled to take place on Tuesday, 26 Adar 5775.

On Elections Day, the voter will identify him/herself before the polling station committee using only an identification card (teudat zehut) or a driver’s license, or a valid Israeli passport.

There is no obligation to present the appendix to the identification card (sefach) and there is no obligation to present the voter notification card that should arrive to each voter by mail.

The voter notification card details the place of the voting booth where the voter is registered and the voter’s serial number at the polling station; therefore, it is preferred but not necessary to bring it with your identification card. Someone who has not yet received their voter notification card and does not know where to vote can contact the telephone information center.

The telephone number for the information center will be publicized on the bulletin boards of every town, in the daily papers and on the website of the Central Elections Committee.

  1. Wow. They don’t let dead people vote. Fictional chacters are disenfranchised. That’s so un-American. No wonder the Democrats don’t want to support Israel anymore.
