Former Rishon L’Tzion HaGaon HaRav Eliyahu Bakshi-Doron Shlita has come out in support of the Yachad party. The rav added his signature to a letter backing Yachad that was released earlier in the week by Jerusalem Chief Sephardi Rabbi HaGaon HaRav Moshe Shlomo Amar Shlita.
Rav Bakshi-Doron signs the letter that is full of praise of HaGaon HaRav Meir Mazuz Shlita, who is the spiritual leader of Yachad, as well as explaining Maran HaGaon HaRav Ovadia Yosef ZT”L was extremely fond of Rav Mazuz.

This is not true.
I agree with #1 – this article is entirely mistaken.
While Rav Eliyahu Bakshi-Doron signed the letter from Rav Amar in support of Rav Mazuz, he explicitly said that this is not an endorsement of Yachad, only defending R’ Mazuz from the attacks against him. He has released similar statements about Rav Shalom Cohen and Shas’ Moetes Chamei Hatorah as well (As YWN itself reported – see http://www.theyeshivaworld.com/news/headlines-breaking-stories/277526/rabbi-bakshi-doron-i-am-not-involved-in-politics.html)
For R’ Bakshi-Doron’s exact words, see

I really think YWN should issue a clarification.
