A 7-year-old child escaped serious injury after an igloo collapsed on top of him, Wednesday evening.
Boro Park Hatzolah arrived at the scene on 42nd Street between 15 and 16 Avenues around 7:45PM and found the child buried under 10 feet of snow and ice – the result of an igloo collapsing on top of him.
FDNY and the NYPD’S Emergency Services Unit were requested to the scene to help extricate the child.
He was under the snow for approximately 10 minutes.
The child was transported by Boro Park Hatzolah Paramedics to the Lutheran Trauma Center. He is reportedly in stable condition.
This incident should serve as a warning that as the weather turned warm the past two days, many of such igloos that children have built are in danger of collapsing. Please do not allow any children to play in them as it is a danger to their lives.

There is a reason that they don’t build igloos in Miami.
Where were this child’s parents?
