Police say a student has been stabbed repeatedly inside a New York high school, and a teen suspect has been arrested at his home.
Spring Valley Police Chief Paul Modica says the 17-year-old was stabbed in the arm, back, shoulder and side Tuesday morning in a hallway at a Rockland County school.
The victim was taken to a hospital. His injuries are not considered life-threatening.
Modica tells The Journal News that the victim identified his attacker. The teen suspect was found at his Spring Valley home and arrested.
The police chief says that authorities have been told the victim and suspect had exchanged words before and that their fight escalated Tuesday at school.
The school was placed on a lockdown after the 8:40 a.m. stabbing.
