Rabbi Avichai Ronsky:Bayit Yehudi Isn’t Being Portrayed Accurately

ronskyBayit Yehudi party Knesset candidate Rabbi Avichai Ronsky feels the party is being inaccurately portrayed; as a party that does not care about Torah.

The former IDF Chief Rabbi and rosh yeshiva in Itamar feels that his party is getting a unjustifiably getting a black eye any anyone that is truly torani must vote for Yachad when this is not so.

“I spoke with a student of the Midrasha in the Old City yesterday and she was under the impression that one with more Yiras Shomayim would vote Yachad, meaning Bayit Yehudi is not at that level” he explains. He adds the student felt, at least to the best of her knowledge, most of the talmidei chachamim, roshei yeshivot, and senior rabbonim in the Zionist camp support Yachad. “How did this misconception come about” he now questions.

He feels that too many feel that many Bayit Yehudi members are only concerned with Eretz Yisrael and not the Torah and Ronsky believes this can only be the result of statements made by people who are not genuinely concerned with halacha and speak evil of others to influence voters.

He warns the split in the dati leumi camp will weaken the community and Bayit Yehudi’s efforts in the next Knesset. He adds “If Bayit Yehudi receives 12 seats and Yachad 5, then one such as MK Orit Struk, who has been moser nefesh for Hebron and Am Yisrael for many years will find herself outside of the 20th Knesset, replaced by someone from Shas who resides in Kfar Saba”.
