Hundreds of people took part in a Yachad party election kenos in Netivot on Sunday night 17 Adar including party rabbonim, members and supporters. Among the rabbonim present was HaGaon HaRav Yoram Abarjil Shlita, who announced his support for the party.

Rav Abarjil spoke of the appointment of Aryeh Deri to head Shas, reminding participants that during the last year of his life, Maran HaGaon HaRav Ovadia Yosef ZT”L was under enormous pressure and that is why Maran said so in so many words, including “judge me favorably. I did nothing on my own but they compelled me. They pressure me and threatened me…”

The rav added that he saw “Eli Yishai’s black box”, referring to the video in which Rav Ovadia instructed him to form a new party and how Deri’s return as Shas leader in 2013 was compelled upon him.

The rav came out strongly in favor of Yachad, instructing participants to vote for Yishai and his list in the upcoming elections.
