A navy patrol fired at a Gazan fishing boat that exceeded territorial waters off the N. Gaza coast on Shabbos. One of the fisherman on board was killed by the gunfire.
The patrol cited a number of fishing vessels about 01:30 on Shabbos and they opened fire in line with protocol. The Gaza fisherman’s’ group has announced it is halting all fishing for the time being in response to the fatal incident.
Hamas is now calling upon Israel to increase the size of the permitted fishing area for Gazans from 6 to 12 miles nautical miles. It is unlikely this will occur due to concerns of terrorist frogmen infiltrating into Israel from the coast near Zikim.

Hanas is holding Israel responsible for the fisherman’s fatal demise!
It’s about time!!!
Long overdue.
If he belinged to Hamas then, by definition, he’s a terrorist!
Do fishermen normally go fishing at 1:30 am? If not, no wonder they opened fire!
