The actions of an 18-year-old resident of Shuafat attacked the attention of Jerusalem light rail security personnel on Wednesday, 13 Adar at the Givat HaMivtar station. They noticed his and in a pocket playing with something that attracted their concerns.

They approached him and instructed him to remove the item from his pocket but he refused. When they did so for him they found a canister of pepper spray. Security personnel summoned police, who report the suspect has a criminal record and may have been planning something on the train.
