A surprise IDF preparedness exercise was held in Yehuda and Shomron on Monday to simulate many difficult scenarios, including the kidnapping of citizens, terror attacks and more.

Thousands of standing army soldiers took part in the major training event along with 13,000 reservists. Senior IDF officials stress the drill was planned well in advance and in no way reflects any current events realities. The IDF Spokesman’s Office called the day’s events “routine” training. They add the PA (Palestinian Authority) was informed of the major exercise in advance.

Following a successful drill IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Gadi Eizenkott stated the military “is ready for conflict”.
