MK Tzipi Livni on Monday evening addressed an election event for the Labor/The Movement list, where she holds the second slot. Her message to potential voters was that if Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu is reelected and he forms a coalition government with Bayit Yehudi and the chareidim, “He will bring us back to the days of darkness and the only chance to maintain liberalism and sanity is with a coalition headed by us”. She promised that if she and Yitzchak Herzog head the new coalition they will push ahead the partnership bill and legislation to accommodate non-religious and to’eva marriage.
During a radio interview she added that her major problem is with Bennett and his party and less so the chareidim.
Livni is also an outspoken critic of Prime Minister Netanyahu’s decision to address the US Congress, accusing him of destroying Israeli US relations.

blah blah blah……
She said her “major problem is with Bennett and his party and less so the chareidim.”
Logical. Bayit Yehudi wants to affect the character of the state. Yahadut Ha-Torah, and Shas to a lesser extent, want to be left alone. The left can offer to exempt them from conscription and have communal autonomy, and their dozen or more votes will support anything they are offered.
Based on the math, the left can only form a government with the Arabs and/or hareidim (and if they have the Arabs, they probably need the hareidim as well). And if the “right” won’t give up demanding conscription of yeshiva students, the left will have a golden oportunity to form a government.
She should drop dead
Hee haw
akuperma – did you notice the part where in the same breath she mentioned she plans on pushing forward legislation for gay marriage. Do you assume that if the left is willing to drop the draft the charedi parties would be willing to support a coalition that legalizes gay marriage in Israel?

..Those still on the sidelines ought to bear that in mind
It is brought down [in two sources at least]that the egregious mortal evil of Amalek which we must battle to the death was their flaunting homosexuality
The Chofetz Chaim ,as is well known stated that Amalek also includes people of Jewish extraction
