The ongoing campaign for 20th Knesset appears to be reaching unprecedented lows in the frum community. All lines are being crossed as the chareidi parties are deeply concerned regarding the outcome of the elections following over two years of being in opposition.
HaGaon HaRav Meir Mazuz Shlita sent a letter to prominent Chabad rabbonim clarifying that he has not been and is not against Chabad as is being alleged by some. The rav adds that to the contrary, that any time the Lubavitcher Rebbe ZT”L came under attack, he came to his defense for he never opposed the rebbe or his hashkafa.
In addition, Rav Mazuz denies statements being released purportedly quoting his piskei halacha that he is lenient in matters of giyur. Rav Mazuz stresses that one wishing to convert to Judaism may only do so if one accepts a life of compliance with Torah and Mitzvos and any statement made in his name to the contrary does not reflect his piskei halacha.
