Likud party officials’ released the following official statement in response to State Comptroller Yosef Shapira’s report on the housing crisis in Israele.
“This is a very important report. The report will be studied to reach the appropriate conclusions. As the report notes, The Likud governments led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu have accomplished a lot with regards to housing prices, though there is still much more that needs to be done.
“We increased new construction projects from 32,000 to 47,000 units per year. We are moving IDF bases from the center of the country to the Negev and in their place 100,000 new housing units will be built. We have overseen a dramatic increase in marketing land for housing and this year we will reach 60,000 housing units that are being marketed. We overturned an earlier decision banning construction in the center of the country, and this year alone, the planning for 80,000 new units will commence. This is in addition, of course, to the revolution we have led in the construction of new roads and rail lines connecting the Negev and Galilee with the center of the country, allowing Israelis to live in Kiryat Gat while working in Tel Aviv.
“In the next Government we will work together with our natural partners, who are as committed as we are to solving the housing crisis, and implement the report’s recommendations. Only a strong government led by Prime Minister Netanyahu will resolve this crisis, just as we did with many other reforms and deep institutional changes we implemented which has made the Israeli economy strong and competitive.

This is all a pittance and more generalities
When all is said ,Bibi is once again seemingly showing indifference and failing to offer any viable economic platform for his natural voting base :the hard working lower and lower middle class.
Will he awaken or will it be too late??
