Hadassah Hospitals in Yerushalayim announce they stand ready for the expected storm. Hospital officials report the hospitals will be operating as usual despite the extreme weather that is expected. Professor Tamar Peretz, Acting CEO for the hospitals adds, “We have learned from a wealth of experience regarding how to deal with such storms and extreme weather. After consultation with relevant city officials, police and other agencies, arrangements have been made to ensure the access roads to the hospitals remain clear and open to ambulances and vehicles. This includes having plows and salt trucks on hand.
The hospitals have also increased their stock of pharmaceuticals and medical equipment to make certain they can meet the demand during the expected storm. All hospital agencies are involved in the preparations and the Hadassah organization explains it stands ready for the storm and expects to keep all departments open and operational.
Professor Binyamin Reuvenoff, who heads the OB/GYN unit in Hadassah Ein Kerem calls on pregnant women who go into labor during the storm not to debate. We have experience and have had cases that women do not wish to head to the hospital for one reason or another. This tens to complicate matters and often birth takes place enroute instead of in the hospital.
Anyone wishing to make an inquiry to Hadassah may call 02-677-1111 or 02-584-4111.
