As part of the ongoing effort to familiarize senior government decision-makers with the chareidi community, senior treasury officials visited the Chevron Yeshiva in Givat Mordechai on Monday, 27 Shevat.
The event was organized by Deputy Betar Mayor Yitzchak Ravitz. Taking part in the tour was Mr. Amir Levi, who heads the treasury’s budgeting unit along with his senior staff. Mr. Levi and his staff spoke with Roshei Yeshiva including HaGaon HaRav Mordechai Faberstein Shlita, HaGaon Rav David Cohen Shlita and HaGaon Rav Yosef Chevroni Shlita.
The senior civil servants also entered the beis medrash and spoke with a number of lomdei torah.
Ravitz explains he believes this is the best way to bring the government officials to a true understanding of the lifestyle of those who have committed their lives to limud Torah.
