Thousands of Israeli Parents to Protest for Uniform Kindergartens

classrIn a snowballing nationwide effort, thousands of Israeli parents are expected to protest with their children on 13 Adar (March 4th) around Israel. They will be demanding uniform kindergartens in the nation’s public education system.

The organizing body released a message via Facebook. “We are calling on the incoming government to act, for the addition to another helper in kindergartens is nothing more than a bandaid. We are seeking true solutions to the problem. Please join us so your voice is also heard on behalf of the little ones”.

In the Tel Aviv are the main protest area will be Rabin Square and the organizations representing kindergarten teachers and assistants have already announced their planned participation. Organizers report that to date, 13 cities from Eilat to Afula have announced they plan to take part in the national event.

Parents add “We don’t want to see our children in another ten years being too violent and with problems communicating and the like all due to the lack of attention when they were small and should have received proper education. The classrooms are simply way too overcrowded and a child cannot possibly receive the proper attention. The kindergarten and school classrooms are far too overcrowded” the Facebook explanation continues.

Ministry of Education officials report the ministry acknowledges the overcrowding and is weighing various solutions. One of the solutions will be implemented in this school year, the deployment of 1,000 sheirut leumi girls in kindergartens.

  1. Reduce MK salaries & break up ridiculous business monopolies to free $$$ for building & starting more ganim. Having Sherut Leumi young ladies assist is still another bandaid.
