A Lecturer at Sapir College Banned From Writing BSD (בס”ד)

scA religious women employed in Sapir College as a proctor for exams was asked to refrain from writing BS”D on the board and to limit her activities to her job description. College officials responded to the report explaining it is the wishes of an individual and does not reflect college policy.

As is customary in the religious community, at least in Israel, teachers will write BS”D on a board in a classroom but in this case, her immediate supervisor is not pleased with seeing the letters instructed her “do not write BS”D”.

College officials make a point of highlighting this is the personal preference of one individual, not the institution.

  1. Is this policy at this College? Every University I attended there wasa free exchange of ideas and points of view between students and professors. While I can understand not forcing ones view on another person ;cannot respectfully thoughtful people reach some sort of compromise? A warning perhaps?

  2. Ah, but OF COURSE all the atmosphere of the past couple of years was ONLY to about the need give religious education
they need in order for employment

    Right?
