A delegation from the Knesset Interior and Environmental Affairs Committees made a preliminary visit to Meron ahead of Lag B’Omer. The delegation was headed by MK David Tzur of The Movement party, arriving on Wednesday morning 22 Shevat.

Local police commanders and others were on hand to brief the delegation on past years and the issues they feel must be addressed.

Taking part in the visit was Israel Police N. District Chief Zohar Davir, Kosel Rav Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz, Merom Golan Regional Council head Amit Sofer, Rabbi Yosef Schwinger (CEO of Holy Sites), Shraga Hoffman (Deputy Director of Ichud Hatzalah), and MKs David Azoulai (Shas), Yisrael Eichler (Yahadut Hatorah), Menachem Eliezer Moses (Yahadut Hatorah) and Uri Maklev (Yahadut Hatorah).
