HaGaon HaRav Reuven Elbaz Shlita, a member of the Shas party Moetzas Gedolei Yisrael spoke at a gathering held in Beit Shean on Monday night the eve of 21 Shevat.

Rav Elbaz called on residents of the city not to remain complacent but to be sure to get out and vote for Shas on Election Day. He spoke of the past years when Shas was compelled to remain outside of the coalition and a heavy price was paid. Rabbi Elbaz explained that it is essential that Shas emerges strong from the upcoming elections.

Rav Elbaz showered Shas leader Aryeh Deri with praise, stating Deri can accomplish what no other elected official can. He added that Rav Shach ZT”L stated that Deri accomplished more in one year than Agudas Yisrael accomplished in forty years.

Rabbi Elbaz further explained that Shas did not succeed in the last elections because it did not have the special leadership that it has today.
