The Israeli left-wing borders on hysterical in its insistence that Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu cancels his planned address go the US Congress claiming his actions are harming relations between Israel and the United States.
Interestingly, Labor party officials report party leader Yitzchak Herzog met in Munich with US Vice President John Biden as the two were attending the same conference. Interestingly, Biden has signaled he plans to absence himself from Mr. Netanyahu’s Congressional address along with other democrats.
One of the firm supporters of the prime minister and his scheduled address is US Senator John McCain, who is quite pleased over the prime minister’s upcoming address for he feels the American people need to hear the truth regarding the White House’s poor handling of the growing Iranian threat. McCain lost the 2008 presidential race to Obama and remains an outspoken critic of the White House and its policies in many areas including foreign relations and Iran.
Interestingly, MarketWatch on Feb 5 published the results of a survey of scholars, who rant US Secretary of State John Kerry as the worst serving in that post in the past 50 years, a message that is clearly in line with the Obama administration failures in the sphere of foreign policy.
In one media interview McCain, who was commenting on the barbaric murder of the Jordanian pilot by ISIS questions just what will have to occur for President Obama to awaken and realize the magnitude of the threat. He explains that before appointing a new defense secretary to explain his strategy, which the president did not, which McCain explains is “because there is no strategy”.
Back in Israel it is clear that with Labor continuing to fall in the polls alongside a slow but steady Likud climb, Labor party leader Yitzchak Herzog is all too aware that Mr. Netanyahu’s address before the US Congress is likely to boost his popularity and widen the gap between the parties in the Israeli election race.

It looks like war is coming with a Russia, China, Iran tripartite agreement. It may not be the times that try men’s souls but we will need a president who fights. Some one like Ulysses S. Grant and it looks like we have one in Senator John McCain. America and its allies are going to have to properly use their resources and cooperate with each other. What still is needed is the equivalent of the Battle Hymn of the Republic. When it comes I’d say the John McCain will listen to it.
