Mrs. Sara Netanyahu is under attack from the media once again, this time for allegedly keeping thousands of shekels earned by returning bottles for deposits. Mrs. Netanyahu claims after bottles were returned the money was placed into petty cash.
Likud officials feel this may represent a new low in media attacks against the prime minister’s wife. Just recently, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu called on the media to direct their target at him and to leave his wife and family out of the political arena.
Mrs. Netanyahu has already signed an affidavit that she placed the deposit money in petty cash. Her declaration was signed in front of two attorneys. Mrs. Netanyahu added that for years the bottles in the Prime Minister’s Residence were tossed and she decided it was time to get more serious about protecting the environment, giving the order to stop throwing out recyclable bottles.
The prime minister used his Facebook page top respond: “There are no bounds to the systematic denunciation adopted by leaders in the media who are attempting to overthrow the Likud government under my leadership and replace it with a left-wing government headed by Tzipi Livni and ‘Buji’ Herzog. With the security situation in the north, and Iran heading for a nuclear deal that will endanger Israel’s security, the ‘existential’ question that has been covered prominently is bottle recycling at the Prime Minister’s Residence.”

Commendable to have a first lady who is frugal and prudent with resources, rather than the Lady in the White house who uses the AMERICAN tax dollars as her personal AMEX card.
They accuse her of pocketing over a thousand dollars. The secular press don’t think, but yeshiva men?
$1000 equals 4000 shekels. each bottle is worth about 30 to 40 agorot so we will use 40 agorot.
Than means to make 4000 shekels, she has to take back 10,000 bottles. Can you picture her doing that? Standing in line at the super to get the gelt?
I don’t believe it myself, but maybe once or twice she forced the staff who normally pockets the gelt to share with her and they ratted to the Leftist press who is eager to get the dirt of Sara.
This will backfire on the Left and they deserve it. If she threw the bottles out, they’d attack her for environmental issues.
