Kol Chai Radio host and journalist Yedidya Meir declined an invitation to join Eli Yishai’s Yachad party. Arutz-7 reports that Meir was asked to join the growing team, which according to the most recent polls clears the four-seat minimum threshold to enter Knesset. Meir also hosts a column in the Arutz-7 affiliated weekly “BaSheva” as well as writing a satirical column in Yediot Achronot.
Had he obliged Yishai, he would have filled the slot for a chareidi Ashkenazi candidate, which many feels Yishai badly needs. At present, the lineup consists of Yishai, MK Yoni Chetboun and Rabbi Moshe Hager.

Position #4 is going to be a difficult hurdle. Takes a man of courage, vision & tenacity.
He ought to add a religious american and/or a religious socioeconomic populist.
If he does so he would really score.
An american oleh would be a good idea.
#3 but who in the american oleh could be suited for the job? and will he be ready to run against the gedolim?
– an Ashkenazi oleh with a large, diverse following, well-respected and a lamdan, who doesn’t automatically criticize those who don’t agree with him on everything, to try to unite the frum world. Rav B Wein? Rav Rakeffet? Rav Ch Teller?
