State Comptroller Yosef Shapira announced his office is beginning a probe following numerous complaints pertaining to Hadassah Hospitals, both Ein Kerem and Mount Scopus. While the comptroller did not release details of the “serious complaints” or the names of persons involved, it was stated the nature of the complaints is too serious to ignore any longer.
In the first stage, the comptroller’s team will probe the Hadassah organization to determine if moving ahead with a comprehensive investigation is warranted.
There are reports that some of the complaints involve excessive salaries and payments while the medical center was in a critical financial situation. It should be pointed out that Hadassah has since adopted a fiscal rehabilitation plan.
In response to the report Hadassah officials’ state they operate professionally and with transparency and welcome any investigation and promise total cooperation.
