US Judges Review Broad Surveillance Of Muslims By NYPD

nypduA federal appeals court appears concerned that the New York Police Department may have spied on Muslim groups solely because of their religion.

The three-judge panel in Philadelphia is reviewing a lawsuit that claims police conducted broad surveillance on Muslim businesses, mosques and schools in New Jersey.

A lower court judge had thrown out the lawsuit.

But the 3rd Circuit judges questioned Tuesday why the surveillance wasn’t targeted. And they said any drop in business or mosque attendance would amount to real harm.

The judges didn’t immediately rule.

The case drew an overflow crowd at the courthouse.

Rutgers University sophomore Taqi Khan says he was born in Pakistan but grew up in New Jersey and considers himself “American by heart.”

He calls the alleged surveillance of a Muslim student group “unfair.”

  1. When the mafia frequented a bar a synagogue church or a muslim place, nobody would sue or argue that the feds can’t go there. Face it, they come to the jews when they suspect a crime, and now they go to the muslims when they want to disrupt terrorists.

They should tell this muslim in heart, “it’s unfair when he and his cohorts target the jews because of their religion or origin.”

  2. Willie Sutton, the famed bankrobber in the early 1900’s was asked why he robbed banks. His answer, “Because that’s where the money is.”

If someone is looking for terrorists, the most likely place they be found in among the Islam community. Denying this is dispensing with truth and safety while worshiping “political correctness”.

Just to ruffle some feathers, Islam is NOT a religion. It masquerades as one. It is an ideology based on savagery and cruelty. It deserves nothing but total extermination. The tolerance that some of our politicians have for Islam is mistaken and dangerous. This comment may be unpopular, but I refuse to buy into the lies that have caused the spilling of so much blood.
