Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu will be leaving for France on Sunday morning 20 Teves to take part in the “silent march” that follows the wave of terror attacks in that country. The Prime Minister’s Office released a message that Mr. Netanyahu was not going to participate due to security concerns, but after Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman announced his planned participation, the prime minister followed suit. In addition, Bayit Yehudi leader Naftali Bennett announced he plans to take part in his capacity as Minister of Diaspora Affairs. After the two made their announcements, the prime minister announced he too would be attending.
PA (Palestinian Authority) leader Abu Mazen is reportedly going to attend as well as leaders of 40 countries have announced they plan to participate in the march, which organizers hope will draw 1 million participants.
As he departed from Tel Aviv the prime minister said, “I am going to Paris in order to participate in the rally, along with world leaders, for a renewed struggle against the Islamic terrorism that is threatening all of humanity, which I have been calling for years. This evening I will attend a special rally, along with French President Francois Hollande, with the Jewish community in France. I will say there that any Jew who wants to immigrate to Israel will be received here with open arms.”
It is reported the four kedoshim murdered in the erev Shabbos terror attack in the kosher supermarket in eastern Paris will be laid to rest on Tuesday, 22 Teves, in Har HaZeisim.
