It was not too long ago that the Education Ministry curtailed school outings to Yerushalayim in response to the alarming increase of Islamic terror attacks. Parents of IDF soldiers followed suit and in response to calls to stop trip to Yerushalayim from worried parents, IDF Chief Education Officer Brigadier-General Ofir Paz Tzuk has “modified” outings for soldiers visiting the nation’s capital.
Tzuk stresses the military is not canceling trips to the capital but it is modifying the route to avoid “problematic areas”. Every IDF soldier will visit the capital on an official outing during his/her service. Tzuk explains that while the trips will continue, the modified routes will permit “avoiding unnecessary risks”.
