Rosh Yeshivat Kisei Rachamim HaGaon HaRav Meir Mazuz Shlita, the rav of MK Eli Yishai’s new Ha’Am Itanu party sent a letter to Aryeh Deri questioning why he resigned.
Rav Mazuz explains that the party had nothing to do with the release of the video, asking why he decided to resign. A copy of the shortly worded is posted below in the extended article

OKAY, Why did Deri resign?
SHAS MKs have reiterated time after time that their every move, action and behavior is guided, decided and orchestrated by MARAN OVADIA. Deri has repeated time again & again that the vote on OSLO was decided in the house of MARAN, and his power block is mandated by MARAN and suddenly a video is shown………& the building blocks fall and collapse.
