The resolution Tuesday failed to get the minimum nine “yes” votes in the Security Council.
It received eight “yes” votes, two “no” votes — including one from the United States — and five abstentions.
The United States, Israel’s closest ally, reiterated its opposition to the draft resolution earlier Tuesday. It has insisted on a negotiated peace agreement between Israel and the Palestinians, not an imposed timetable.

who was the second country voting no
It’s so nice to see our world still has some common sense left
Who were the “yes” votes?
haShem won’t deny Obama his Sechar for this good deed, irrespective of his overall picture.
YES votes were: Jordan, China, France, Russia, Luxembourg, Chad, Chile and Argentina.
NO votes were: United States and Australia.
ABSTAINED were: United Kingdom, Lithuania, Nigeria, South Korea and Rwanda.
It’s the same resolution they try to get passed every few years. Palestinian’s should be charged costs for Security Council time.
Baruch Hashem. That was close.
Why is Abu Mazen raising the roof?
It is noteworthy that France, which had assured Israel that it would not support the resolution, turned around at the last moment, stabbed Israel in the back and voted ‘YES’. The resolution failed to pass because Nigeria, a country with a Muslim majority, abstained.
Israel ought punish Jordan and China for their part in it. They’re supposed to be her friends: of sort.
They both need Israeli trade.
It happens every so often. Last time, it was passed but the us vetoed it.
