The storm has begun with the release of the video aired by Channel News on Sunday evening 6 Teves. The video shows Maran HaGaon HaRav Ovadia Yosef ZT”L in 2008 telling close aides that he does not trust Aryeh Deri and does not wish to see him to return as party leader instead of Eli Yishai.
One of Maran’s sons, HaGaon HaRav David Yosef Shlita, a member of Shas’ Moetzas Gedolei Yisrael and daughter Mrs. Adina Bar-Shalom were among visitors at the kever of Maran following the release of the video. During the tefilla at the kever, Rav David Yosef used harsh words against Eli Yishai, who broke away from Shas to launch the Ha’Am Itanu party. Yishai was attacked for releasing the video to the media. He denied having any connection to the video’s release.
Rav David stated “Eli Yishai was ousted from Shas in disgrace by Abba and now he is rude and lacking shame. He clung to the alter and has caused us a great deal of grief”.

But Yishai was NOT ousted at all by anyone. He was Shas’s #2 man until a week ago. He left on his own to start his party.
I always admired R’ David Yosef, but I cannot help but wonder how in the world is he saying this? People don’t have that bad of a memory, and we all remember how Rav Ovadya tried to hold on to Yishai as long as he could, and then they were partners etc.
It smells from a deal. I believe Deri has a lot of garbage on the family and is threatening to use it if they do not back him.
I don’t understand how these people are not embarrassed with themselves. A whole day Maran this Maran that. This is the the biggest bizayon to Rav Ovadia.

Its beginning to appear that Yossef’s sons were manipulating him in the years prior to his petirah in an effort to gain power (and money) after he was gone. This absurd claim that Maran “ousted” Yishai from Shas when there is documented evidence that he tried to find a way of keeping him in the tent with Deri is a joke. Both of the Yosef kids are engaged in the worst kind of gutter politics and hopefully they will earn a just reward for dragging their father’s memory through the mud.

Seems to be Eli Yishai is a true mentch. He kept quiet while everyone else just can’t stop chatting.
Nu. Harav Ovadia’s son David was always the son closest to Deri and Deri recently repaid him for his loyalty by appointing him to Shas’ Moetzet. Now he is slinging mud for his friend and benefactor. He knows full well that if Deri falls he too will fall.

#dovid from modiin: that’s a great tayna. Its not lashon hara of its about a public figure. Once you’re writing your own shulchan aruch, I have a list of other halachos that would be nice to change. However for those of us wishing to do the ratzon hashem, I think we’ll stick with the original.
To all you posting despicable comments about Rav Ovadia and his sons, realize that one you are writing lashon sorry I mean motzee Shem ra calling these tzadikim power hungry and money hungry. second not only are you speaking bad about a fellow jew you are writing about GEDOLIM!!!
