Two 18-year-olds were arrested in Williamsburg overnight, after they were caught by Shomrim (WSPU) breaking into vehicles.
A spokesperson for WSPU tells YWN that a local resident called the Shomrim hotline to report the suspicious two men around 3:15AM. Around 3:35AM, two Shomrim volunteers witnessed the pair first break into a vehicle on Middleton street, followed by another vehicle on Division Avenue. The second vehicle belonged to a Hatzolah Paramedic. Electronic devices were stolen from both vehicles. Shomrim quickly called the NYPD, who apprehended the suspects without further incident.
They both have a history of prior arrests.
Meny Hoffman of the Ptex Group was one of the victims last night. He tweeted the following this morning:
Special thank you to the #NYPD @NYPD90Pct for recovering my stolen items and making a swift arrest on the people that committed the crime.
